A Designer Luxury Must Have! The Dog Room: Good Design Award Winner 2022.

The Dog Room is a luxury Australian-design and Australian-made kennel. Designed by award winning architect Michael Ong and Pen, was created with simplified living in mind. Pairing back design principles to create an object that achieves symbiosis between functionality and design allows your pet’s bedding to integrate seamlessly into your own space. The Dog Room achieves a form that strikes the perfect balance between traditional design elements and modern aesthetics. The concept is inspired by basic archetype of a house complete with pitched roof, and is a child’s typical line drawn representation of a home.

Made from hand-welded aluminium frame and a series of marine ply panels which is carefully detailed to create a distinctly clean appearance.

The Dog Room is Australian-made and is a collaboration with Help Enterprise, a social enterprise company focused on providing employment and training opportunities for people with disability.

Outdoor Use The Dog Room uses marine ply to allow the product to withstand outdoor conditions. However, to ensure longevity we recommended the Dog Room placed under shelter (verandahs or porch) due to Australia’s harsh weather conditions. A small amount of natural movement of the timber is expected as it adapts to the conditions of your home, due to variations in humidity and temperature.
